Bahamas Offers $300 "Instant Credit" for Private Pilots
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation and the Bahama Out Island Promotion Board, recently announced a ground breaking promotion, “Private Pilot $300.00 Instant Credit Savings” for travel and stay at various Out Island resorts and hotels throughout the Islands of The Bahamas. Bahamas sponsers International Federal Partnership video:
The new chairman of the IFP building, at EAA's AirVenture show at Oshkosh, is Bahamas Aviation Specialist, Greg Rolle. The International Federal Pavillion features outreach programs from US, Bahamas, and Canadian government agency's, helping to educate and inform private pilots. Greg has already made his mark on this prestigious post by producing a new video about the IFP exhibit. Watch the video here.
Bahamian Students star in Aviation Promotion:
Students from different islands who were part of the chock painting program, submited videos recorded on "flip phones". They explain why pilots should fly to the islands. You can view this colorful video here.
Sportpilot License Approved to visit Islands :
The Bahamas now accepts the certification of all US / Canada sport flying pilots.
- All required a/c documents must be on the aircraft when flying in the Bahamas
- Pilot must fly with both medical and license on person.
Gateway Program Expands:
Fort Lauderdale, FL – Select Florida FBO's, as emissaries, are spreading the word on the ease of flying to the premier tropical destination. FBO members include, Banyan, Showalter, Sheltair, APP, and Galaxy. Showalter will host the next Bahamas Day, Feb. 19, 2011 in Orlando.
The First Annual Bahamas Day hosted by Banyan Air Service, was a runaway success. Pilots crowded around vendors, enjoyed Bahamian cooking, attended many interestingseminars, and were entertained by a colorful Junkanoo band. Banyan Air Service, is a Bahamas Gateway FBO.
Bahamas Buzzing With GA Aircraft: More pilots are discovering how easy it is to fly yourself to the Bahamas. Private Pilots accounted for 476,593 room nights for the Bahamas, with the overwhelming majority going to the Family Islands. While the new eAPIS program is still getting tweaked, pilots reported few problems learning the system.
Chocks Feature Bahamian Student Artwork - General aviation chocks designed by students from the Out Islands of the Bahamas were given-away to pilots attending the Aviation Summit in Tampa, Florida. The program was a big hit at the show. Pilots lined up at the Bahamas Booth to get their pair, as well as listen to Greg Rolle explain flight procedures, and hand out resort literature.
